ATLANTA, Ga. – Often known as the “Shaq Store” as a result of it’s owned by basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal, the Krispy Kreme on Ponce de Leon Avenue is about to open subsequent week with a brand new constructing after an arsonist destroyed the unique one.
Firm executives joined metropolis officers for a ribbon-cutting Friday as the shop’s 70 workers cheered. O’Neal was unable to attend attributable to out-of-the-country journey, an organization spokeswoman mentioned.
The store will open to the general public at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 10.
The unique Krispy Kreme on Ponce was first in-built 1965. The doughnut store, which O’Neal bought in 2016, was broken in two separate fires in 2021 earlier than it was demolished.
In January, Krispy Kreme introduced plans to rebuild.
As soon as open, the store will likely be open seven days every week. The hours of operation will likely be Sunday via Thursday, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
